Semblance is the artificial intelligence running the universal simulation alongside the player. When actively speaking to the player, it uses a female voice for direct verbal communication. As the player progresses throughout the game, Semblance will give feedback on certain game information, as well as comment on player milestones when they have been achieved. After the game opens up, the player will gain access to the Data Log, in which Semblance's quotes from cutscenes and other areas of the game can be reviewed.
